Inspired by various poems, the artists will be spraying their versions of the works in the form of graffiti on the wall of the former department store building at Anton-Saefkow-Platz. The artwork will sit directly alongside the texts that the respective authors will be writing on the wall themselves. The final jet of spray paint on 13 July will trigger the start of the opening ceremony with poetry readings, DJ sets and live performances from artists from Berlin, Brazil and Spain. A jury will be awarding prizes for the best adaptations. There will be a large local festival to mark the occasion with a colourful stage programme including a percussion performance and a Brazilian band and music.
